2016/12/11 – another Facebook ride (sumo tires – Chris and Bjoern)

Was supposed to be a quick ride in the snow… the snow ended up being too deep and/or wet… so it was “quick”…

Was sort of up in the Mt Wood area, checked out Goldstream Heights, the gravel pit up there, and the entrance to the Mt Wood area near the Skylar Rd development. Ran into Mike Ryan (on foot) up there. It really was just too plain slippery for bikes. Snow would have been preferable, but this was snow on slush, and you couldn’t get the snow to pack, or through it to the dirt.

So, rode with Christopher Chong, and Bjoern Shaber (DRZ 400 SM and WR 250). Chris was on supermoto tires, which limited him a lot. Truth be told, it was too slimy to do the trails. I might have been able to play in the gravel pit.

No GPX track as we didn’t really go anywhere.

Right... guy in the black jacket is Mathew Farrugia who turned back early, as his supermoto tires were a) worn, and b) not rain type tires. Chris in yellow, Bjoern's bike.

pano... from Stebbings road I think. It was the snow and clouds on the hill that stopped me, but I didn't bring the Lumix, so couldn't really capture it.
